Pups In Charge!

Meet the pups in charge at NCLA HQ! Their four paws mean they are extra efficient at XL, and can pack orders super quick. They love the fact that we are cruelty free and vegan, too! These pups get rewarded in treats and occasional paw-dicures.

Betty June Rockmore

Betty is Rory's 9-year old Shih-Tzu. She's had a little work done after moving to LA, so she looks a little younger than she is. She never misses a hair appointment, loves cheetah print, and refuses to work.

Choco

Choco is Elin's 1-year old Chocolate Lab. She still isn't over the fact that her name is Choco and she can't eat chocolate, but loves to going to work every day!

Nala

Nala is Anh-Thu's 4 month old Yellow Lab. She's addicted to puppycinos, can fall asleep anywhere, and loves the occasional paw-dicure.

Rose

Rose is Alex's rescue chihuahua mix. She howls on command, and not on command. Rose lives in a house of 5 dogs but is *paw-sitive* she's the favorite.

Hachi

Hachi is Sophie's chihuahua-terrier mix. Hachi speaks Japanese just like Sophie!

Peaches and Simba

Peaches and Simba are Allie's two rescue cats. They are honorary puppies, and still think they have people fooled into thinking they are pups.

We love our furry friends! They are a huge part of our lives, and everyday is national puppy day in our eyes.

How to Amp Up Your Nudes Manicure

Nudes may be a neutral, but these manicures are anything but ordinary. We've rounded up some of our favorite out of the box 'nude' manicures, to show you how to amp up your typical nudes. Whether you're looking to keep it minimalistic or amp it all the way up, we've broken down the best way to get the look.

Hint Of Neon

@annastimson takes her favorite nudes from the NCLA Nudes Collection and adds a simple neon stripe to give her a neutral manicure a pop of color. Get the look by applying two coats of Volume V nail polish. Let dry, and use a thin brush to apply a colorful pop of neon like Acapulco Gold.

Touch of Gold

@vampclaws applied two coats of NCLA's Gelous? Volume IV Gel to achieve the perfect soft nude look. By adding a small triangle gold gem to each nail, this manicure becomes edgy, while still remaining neutral.

Geometric Nudes

@trophywifenailart took it to the next level with this subtle geometric look. Using NCLA's Tutus and Traffic Violations Gel as a base color, she then added subtle and complimentary white and navy blue accents. This manicure has just the right amount of cool.

Mix and Match

@nailp__ used NCLA Nail Wraps in Rose Rock to add a marble accent to her gorgeous nude gel manicure. We love how the peachy nude base of Rose Rock matches her gel color! Get the look by pairing Rose Rock nail wraps and NCLA's Volume I gel

Half Moon

@paintbucketnails (one of our fave) New York salons, used NCLA's Gelous? Tutus and Traffic Violations Gel to create the cleanest half moon manicure ever! Using the natural nail as the base, we love the negative space they used as a contrast!

Meet NCLA's CEO and Co-Founder

Elin Dannerstedt started her career in fashion after graduating from FIDM. After working her way up in the industry, she decided to start her own company and found where her true passion lied.

Follow along as we interview and delve a bit into Elin's life :)

Q: What's your biggest inspiration behind NCLA?

A: NCLA started in Downtown LA, the same place I started my career, where I had my first apartment, and where I started getting inspired by all things LA. Every product, every collection, is not only inspired by LA, but by places I've seen and the people I've met. Catwalk Queen will make you feel different than Bel Air Trophy Wife, and that's exactly the point.

Q: What are 3 beauty products you cannot leave the house without?

A: Matte pink lipstick. Black Liquid Eyeliner. NCLA's So Rich Cuticle Oil.

Q. What are 3 words that come to mind when you think of the NCLA girl (or boy!)?

A: Cool. Chic. Fearless.

Q: Favorite place in LA?

A: Every Monday I go to the Los Angeles Flower Mart to get flowers for the office and my house. There's something about the hustle and bustle of the wholesale flower district that makes me so excited to start the week. It's the best flowers for the best prices!

Q: What's your daily makeup routine?

A: I'd like to pretend I can glam up every day, but on top of jeans and a t-shirt I actually keep it pretty simple during the day. A little foundation, blush, and my classic cat-eye, and I'm good to go. I love coming home and playing with makeup, and that's where I really have fun with it, whether or not I have somewhere to go.

Q: What's your favorite NCLA product to date?

A: Bianca in gel and lacquer. I don't feel myself without a fresh vampy manicure.

Q: If your employees could describe you in 3 words, what would they be?

 A: Determined. Chaotic. Caring.

Q: What's your favorite part about developing a new product?

A: I'd say the best part is getting the first samples. We all spend months designing colors and logos, thinking of names, and creating the formulas. To have the final product in hand that I'm finally happy with, that's the best part!

Q: What's your dream collaboration?

A: We've been lucky enough to work with our favorite character, Hello Kitty. Our favorite pop culture icon, Beyonce. Our favorite blogger, Sivan Ayla. Every collaboration we do has to be an extension or fantasy of our brand. What better girl to emulate the ultimate NCLA spirit, than Barbie? That would be my absolute dream!

Q: What message do you want your customers to feel when buying/wearing your products?

A: I believe that looking good and feeling good go hand in hand. In addition to looking good, the products you wear should reflect your personality. I want my customer to feel sure of herself when wearing the bright pink She's Overboard & Self Assured. I want her to feel powerful when wearing a deep red like Rodeo Drive Royalty, and light hearted when she's wearing a light pink like Like... Totally Valley Girl. Every color, every name, is not just supposed to make you look good, but feel good :)
